I bought Toad as a 10 week old show quality puppy, not expecting she would do anything else. Boy, was I pleased when she did! Toad is the 1st Dachshund to pass the Variable Surface Tracking test. She is the 1st Triple Champion Dachshund. Click here to read my story of tracking with Toad.
Toad has won 1st place in Field Champion stakes 20 times, including the largest Field Champion stake in history, 54 FCs the day before the 1999 DCA National Field Trial. She has won 15 Field Trial Absolutes, including 2 DCA National host trial Absolutes, and Absolute at the 1998 DCA National Field Trial. Toad was DCA’s #1 Field Trial Dog twice, in 1996 and 1998. She is currently the #2 dog for Lifetime Field Champion points based on number of dogs defeated in the Field Champion Stakes.
The December 2002 issue of the Dachshund Club of America's Newsletter features Toad on the cover and includes an article on her becoming the first Triple Champion in the breed. I consider her a specialist... a nose with a dog attached.
