Multi-talanted Dachshunds

Dachshunds are a very versatile breed. The AKC offers 7 titling events that Dachshunds are elligible to compete in. There are currently 6 Dachshunds that have earned titles in all 7 of those events. They, and their owners are:

What do all those letters mean?

You see lots of different letters before and after dog's registered names. Below, is a brief description of what they mean.

Prefix titles, which come before the dog's name, are Championship titles. Most Dachshunds' names also contain an abreviation at the end of their name to designate what size and coat variety they are. The first letter stands for the size, S for standard, M for miniature. The second letter stands for the coat variety, L for long, S for smooth, W for wire. Some breeders will include additional letters to designate color or pattern. Suffix titles, which come at the end of the dog's name, are performance titles.

The titles I've listed below are all AKC titles that Dachshunds are elligible for. There are other registries that offer titles as well, those most commonly seen would be Agility titles. The photos are of Hazel at an Agility Trial and an Obedience Trial.
