After earning her Field Championship and TD titles, Hazel spent some time on the dog show circuit. She was superbly handled by Carlos Puig and became the #6 Wire Dachshund in the country in 2002. During her show career, she won several group placements, along with two Group 1st. I am very proud of Hazel and thank Carlos for doing such a wonderful job of showing her. Hazel is one of only 7 dachshunds that has earned titles in all venues available for Dachshunds.
I'm not sure what activity Hazel enjoys the most, she seems willing to give 100% in everything she does.
At the 2007 DCA National, Hazel competed in all events - she passed the TDX to become the 3rd dachshund Champion Tracker and 3rd Triple Champion dachshund, was 3rd place in the Field Champion Bitch stake at the Field Trial, earned a qualifying score in Novice Agility FAST (our first time in FAST), and won the DCA Triathlon for the second year in a row.
